On the Sukkur-Multan Motorway near Pano Aqil, dacoits of the Kacha area attacked the Baiji Police Picket and kidnapped a van driver after a heavy exchange of firing with law enforcers in the wee hours on Sunday.
According to the 24news HD TV channel, the dacoits escaped safely after the kidnapping of a passenger van driver Lal Bakhsh while the two passengers saved their lives by running away from the crime scene.
As per the channel, the police party under the leadership of SSP Sukkur Abid Baloch was chasing the dacoits and a fierce exchange of fire continued with the dacoits till filing this report.
SSP Sukkur Abid Baloch said the operation will continue till the safe recovery of the hostage.
