The PTI government reached another milestone as a record increase has been witnessed in transfers and postings as well as appointments in bureaucracy at the federal level during the first 309 days of 2020, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

A total of 502 officers were either transferred and posted or appointed during this period, which translates into more one than officer every day while the weekly average is over 11.

Official documents show that a total of 74 officers opted for leave amid the storm-like situation created by these transfers and postings. Many of them went abroad for a long period under various excuses, as a feeling of insecurity has gripped bureaucracy.

These documents reveal that 451 officers from Grade-17 to Grade-22 have been transferred so far.

But it didn’t stop there as 51 retired military and civil officers and experts were appointed in different capacities to occupy important positions.

It was Sanaullah Abbasi who received the “distinction” of being the first higher-level state servant to be transferred and posted as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief. He was previous serving in the same capacity in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Meanwhile, most of the transfers and postings were carried out in two top groups – Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) and Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), formerly known as District Management Group (DMG).
