Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said if talking about constitution of Pakistan is treason then this ‘treason’ will be committed every day, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Monday.

Abbasi was talking to media persons along with Ahsan Iqbal, Maryam Aurangzeb and other party leaders in Islamabad after a treason case was registered against PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.

“If talking for one's rights, inflation, electricity tariff price hike, sugar prices and on the closure of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) are sedition, then every day there will be sedition.” the former prime minister said.

He quoted a proverb, “Patriotism is the stage refuge of the scoundrel.”

PML-N senior leader said, “If you want us to be handcuffed then do it if you have the courage. These tactics will not work. When there is nothing left, there are always accusations of sedition.”

Khaqan Abbasi said sedition case against Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is another black spot in the history of Pakistan. “The SHO Shahdara Police Station has ‘beautifully’ crafted the FIR on behalf of a person named Bader Rasheed. This FIR is an addition to fiction books.”

This treason case is unique in the political history of Pakistan, which is even bigger than the Agartala Conspiracy Case and Rawalpindi Conspiracy Case, in which former chief minister, former prime minister, former foreign minister, former governor and ex-ministers have been nominated.

Abbasi challenging the federal ministers said, “If federal ministers have some courage then do not resort to Bader Bashir and they should come forward, the PML-N will face cases.”

“Perhaps the public problems are over so the federal ministers have been holding press conferences for the last five days,” he added.
