HEC issues new syllabus for undergraduate classes

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has changed the study course of the undergraduate classes and devised a new syllabus for the Associate Degree Programme (ADP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The HEC on Tuesday issued Undergraduate Policy, 2020 devising new syllabus under which the students who have been enrolled in the Associate Degree Programme in any Pakistani university or college would be required to study Islamiat and Pakistan Studies subjects as compulsory subjects along with 13 other subjects being taught in General Education.

The HEC directed all the universities and colleges to teach these two subjects to undergraduate students. 

The students of ADP are required to study 39 credit hours’ courses.

Under Knowledge Domain, 5 courses have been included in the syllabus which comprise Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Exposure Writing and Intuitive Writing. 

The ADP students will start studying new syllabus from 2022. 

All the government and private universities would teach new syllabus under semester system. The HEC has also allowed universities that they could devise extra courses of their choice if they like.
