Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Tuesday rejected the Imran government's decision to bring an ordinance regarding the appointment of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman.

According to 24News HD TV Channel, PPP Senator Saleem Mandviwalla said the government has made the parliament inactive by issuing ordinances on the different parliamentary matters.

Mandviwalla said that the appointment of the NAB chairman was not such a big issue that an ordinance would be brought in this regard.

The PPP Senator asked the President that he should look into the matter himself and stop the issuance of the ordinance.

He said that the condition of changing the Leader of the Opposition for talks was beyond comprehension.

He said his party would strongly oppose the ordinance in Parliament because the law regarding the appointment of the NAB chairman was very clear.

He also said that the government should negotiate according to parliamentary tradition instead of imposing conditions.

Senator Saleem Mandviwalla said the extension of NAB Chairman would be challenged in the Supreme Court as the opposition was working in this regard.

He said the NAB chairman was blackmailed and put under pressure, adding that the NAB was also involved in forcing people for making a plea bargain.

The Senator also said that the NAB and the government started a media trial of the opposition after failing to prove its corruption charges in the courts.
