Ramiz Raja seeks PSX assistance to boost cricket economy

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ramiz Raja visited Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in Karachi on Tuesday morning and participated in the gong ceremony and also struck the gong to open trading for the day, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Talking to the media, Ramiz Raja said that the Pakistan Cricket Board needed to be economically strong enough for better cricket.

Ramiz Raja said that he visited the stock exchange in a bid to lure investment in cricket (league or series). “We have come with plans to be economically strong, he said.

Ramiz said he wanted to see cricket at the pattern of leagues around the world.

Pakistan Cricket Board wanted to launch cricket leagues in May, June, and July in the northern areas. 

“We have got talent from Larkana and there is still need to go in far-flung areas like interior Sindh and have to explore the talent there,” the PCB Chairman told the media. 

“PCB is restructuring the cricket system from the bottom that will ultimately improve the cricket.

Shedding light on the economic structure of the PCB, Ramiz said the PCB is being operated with economic assistance from International Cricket Council (ICC). 

He reiterated that no team would be reluctant to play with Pakistan if the PCB got a strong economic system. 

He sought suggestions from the business community from the PSX on how to promote the cricket economy.
