Rivals reportedly gouged out a man's eyes in Laliani tehsil of Chiniot district, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday. 

The horrific incident occurred in Muhammad Wala police precincts of the Punjab tehsil.

The victim, named Nasir, was rushed to the tehsil headquarters hospital from where he was referred to Faisalabad.

His condition is stated to be critical. Two suspects have been arrested and investigation is on, local lawmen said.  

Chiniot DPO Bilal Zafar took notice of the obnoxious act and pledged to provide the victim with justice.

The persons involved in such acts of brutality deserve no mercy, the top cop said.
