Renowned actress and writer Yasra Rizvi has posted various ‘extreme’ pictures on her Instagram handle through which she intends to convey an important message: Don’t portray marriages as ‘umer qaid’ or ‘saaze-e-moat’ and if you will, that is not beneficial for you only.

The actress who has an intellectual understanding which many might not be able to comprehend has taken it upon herself to talk about the notion of marriages and how we restrict ourselves into believing that there is no way out.

Wearing a traditional red wedding dress with smeared makeup intending to impose a disorientated condition, Yasra has emerged on the internet with chain cuffs on her hand and a chain also cradling her neck area. The actress has posed with just the right ‘dead’ expression in her eyes to cause distress and sorrow. Through the intense picture session, we believe Yasra is trying to convey the effects a marriage can have on an individual if one doesn’t exercise free will.

In one of the post captions, Yasra has stated that when one is tied in a matrimonial relationship, it is to be understood that rights of both parties need to be recognized and implemented.

Furthermore, Yasra has urged her massive fan following to stand up for those submissive women who are going through horrendous incidents because of being married.

Would just like to emphasise here that whatever made Yasra Rizvi post the impactful yet extreme pictures/captions on her social media account might have stemmed from something deep inside her or a negative experience however it is definitely not a good idea to impose ones experience on others. We mean to say that the message Yasra is trying to convey could have been toned down a bit as well so that people intending to tie the knot might not get discouraged from the notion of marriages.

Here’s what Yasra had to say in her Instagram captions: “Shaadi aik social contract hai jisme huqooq aur faraaiz dono fariqain ke hote hain, isse umer qaid ya sazaa-e-moat samajh laina khud apne saath zyaadti hai.”

She further wrote: “Stand up for your daughters and sisters and friends and female relatives and abused neighbours or that random woman being beaten up by her husband in a restaurant while he says 'yeh hamara aapas ka maamla hai' before you get to carry one of your own to the graveyard just because you were too busy being polite.”
