Esports Tekken Lockdown Brawl tournament winner Pakistan’s Abdur Rahman aka Heera Malik has said that he was over the moon for lifting Pakistan’s flag at international gaming tournament and appealed for more sponsorships to press on with the success run.

During an appearance in 24NewsHD TV channel’s 24@9 programme on Thursday, Heera Malik told the hosts: “I have been playing this game for the last nine years. My family was not in favour of my gaming passion but time proved and I won two international gaming titles including FATE Esports Tekken Lockdown Brawl tournament.”

“I have also played the Taken international gaming festival in Dubai and Bangkok. I started this game as my passion and I was unaware about the sponsorship involved in it. A player from Japan came to Defence Lahore and I beat him then I got a sponsorship from Australia,” Heera Malik said.

He said he will pursue his career in Tekken gaming. “Although COVID-19 has affected my sponsorship but after things become normal I am hopeful that I will be getting the sponsorships again,” he further added.

It is pertinent to note that though the 2020 Tekken World Tour has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, fighting game communities around the globe have been working hard to provide its eager players with tournament opportunities even online.

Last year “Arslan Ash” Siddique dominated TWT 2019 and this year FATE Esports recently hosted a Lockdown Brawl that showcased the top 24 players of Pakistan.

Some familiar superstars were present in the tournament, including Arslan Ash himself and Geese Howard expert Imran “Khan” Khan, but from the shadows came Heera Malik, a Steve Fox specialist just starting to make a name for himself.

The grand final was a best-of-five between EVO champion Arslan Ash and Heera Malik. While Heera went for his obvious pick of Steve, Arslan experimented by using Eliza, a character who he’s practised with for only ten days and Heera won the tournament.
