A close aide of ex-premier Nawaz Sharif,  Alhaj Amjad Farooq, and other key PML-N figures from Gujrat have joined the PML-Q, 24 NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

They announced their decision during a meeting with acting Punjab governor Ch Parvez Elahi, federal minister Moonis Elahi, and Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain. Speaking on the occasion, Parvez Elahi said Imran Khan is an honest person who wants to do something for the country.

He said the PML-Q is with him from day one and it will stand by the PTI so that the public could be served. He listed his party’s feats like the construction of Rescue 1122 stations in Gujarat and establishing Wazirabad Cardiology Hospital and expressed resolve to continue with better public service delivery.

The treatment in hospital was free in the PML-Q’s term, he recalled adding that unfortunately, the Sharifs’ rule ruined the health sector as well. However, he said his party has been endeavouring to serve the public and will continue to do so.
