Goods train derailment in Tando Jam suspends upcountry traffic

A goods train has derailed in Tando Adam town of District Sanghar suspending railway traffic to upcountry, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The goods train which was travelling from Karachi to Punjab went off the track in Tando Jam derailing five cars of the train late last night.

The Rescue workers and locals were facing hindrances in carrying out the relief work amid pitch darkness due to electricity loadshedding.

Railway authorities were busy clearing the track for restoration of the railway traffic to the upcountry following derailment which split the goods train into two.

After the accident, all the trains coming from Karachi to the upcountry have been stopped at various railway stations.
