This year too, the Karachi streets became ponds as monsoon rain spell started lashing the metropolis disrupting the daily life of Karachiites as over 150 feeders of K-electric went tripped, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday. 

Hundreds of thousands of people standing in their cars in Qayyum Abad area where rainwater inundated roads while the situation in Defence Phase-II was also aweful when water entered homes.

The Met Office has predicted that the monsoon spell will continue for the next three days as well.

Sindh Labour Minister Saeed Ghani said visited District East to supervise the disposal of rainwater. Also, Karachi administrator Murtaza Wahab visited some areas as well and termed the situation satisfactory. 

As per the Karachi weather office, most rainfall recorded at PAS Masroor Base was 11mm and 9mm at Kemari Island.

A number of areas in Karachi received record monsoon rains including Nazim Abad, Malir, Saadi Town, Naval Colony, Saddar, Garden, II Chandrigar Road, and other areas. 

Locals urged authorities to stop photo sessions and put practical measures needed to stop further devastation in the ongoing monsoon spell.
