PM Imran praises President Xi for supporting Pakistan

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday thanked Chinese President Xi for his strong message on World Environment Day 2021 hosted by Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a tweet, Imran Khan said that the message reflected both countries' commitment to counter environmental degradation.

PM Imran also lauded President Xi's leadership in combating climate change and biodiversity loss and his offer to step up cooperation on ecosystem restoration.

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s message was read out by Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong during the global ceremony of International Environment Day that was hosted by Islamabad.

President Xi commended the strides made by Pakistan to cope with climate change.

Xi Jinping said his country stands ready to work with Pakistan and other countries to inject new impetus into global environmental governance and contribute to a clean and beautiful world.

President Xi said that the international community should work together with unprecedented ambition and action to strive for a fair and reasonable system of global environmental governance featuring win-win cooperation and promote the sustainable development of humanity.

Xi made the remarks in a congratulatory letter to the World Environment Day events held in Islamabad, Pakistan.
