Lahore police on Monday advised the Chinese citizens living in the city to avoid travelling unnecessarily, and only after informing the security agencies of their movement, if necessary, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

This was decided at a high-level meeting, which was chaired by SP Security Rashid Hidayat at Police Lines in Qila Gujjar Singh.

It was agreed at the meeting that foolproof security arrangements be made in view of threats to the lives of the Chinese nationals and the recent terror attacks targeting people from the neighbouring country in Karachi.

Speaking on the occasion, SP Hidayat said that already foolproof security was being provided to the Chinese working on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in the city. “We consider it our national duty to look after our Chinese friends,” he said.
