Opposition MNA from North Waziristan Mohsin Dawar has challenged the government about the number of votes polled to Prime Minister Imran Khan during the vote of confidence in the National Assembly on Saturday and claimed that the required number of lawmakers were not present in the House, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Pashtun-Tahafuz-Movement leader said he will challenge the numbers being claimed by the government.

The National Assembly Speaker announced that Prime Minister Imran Khan got 178 votes.

Talking outside the Parliament House after the vote of confidence on Saturday, Dawar claimed that the required number of MNAs were not present as claimed by the government and demanded an investigation into the matter.

“This should be investigated through video footages which MNA was genuinely present in the house and whose vote was counted as a formality,” he said.

Earlier Dawar tweeted, “Shame on PTI’s thugs who attacked Marriyum Aurangzeb, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Musadik Malik, Ahsan Iqbal and other PML-N leaders. This takes PTI thuggery to a new high from 2014. It's a dangerous precedent and is taking the situation towards direct confrontation. The PM should show responsibility.”
