Former prime minister, PPP senior leader and newly-elected senator Yousaf Raza Gilani on Saturday challenged the government to take vote of confidence after evicting those ‘corrupt’ and ‘conscious-sellers’ 17 MNAs who did vote for him in Senate elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The former PM claimed that those who voted for him (from the government) realized the change of winds that the PDM has won recently-held all by-elections. “These members were not with you, are not with you and will not remain with you in the future,” he said.

Talking to newsmen at Sindh House in Islamabad, Gilani said “We prevailed as we want supremacy and dignity of the parliament.” He said even the President of Pakistan has said, “I am convinced that you have lost the majority.”

Counting the feats of his premiership era, Gilani said, “We passed 104 constitutional amendments including 44 unopposed.”

“If ordinances would make the constitution, then you could have made the South Punjab province with it. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) interpreted that they did not rewrite the constitution as that is the role of parliament,” Gilani elaborated.
