While Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and its allied parties are due to attend the National Assembly (NA) session on Saturday (today) to repose trust in Prime Minister Imran Khan, the leaders of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of opposition parties, which had decided to boycott the session, will today meet at Sindh House in Islamabad to chalk out the future course of action, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz and other leaders would attend the meeting.

Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that Saturday’s NA session did not have any value, and that the nation could not be befooled anymore.

While Maryam Nawaz, on the other hand, has said that members of the National Assembly have shown their lack of trust in the ‘selected’ prime minister.

Fazl had yesterday said that no member of the opposition parties would attend the National Assembly session on March 6 therefore the session would prove to be a useless exercise. He said the prime minister had lost the House’s confidence therefore he should take a fresh vote of confidence. He said that former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani’s victory against PTI candidate Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in the Senate election was a clear sign of no-trust against Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said the PDM did not consider the government led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) a representative of the people.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had decided to seek a vote of confidence from the National Assembly following Abdul Hafeez Shaikh’s, PTI candidate for Senate elections from Islamabad, defeat at the hands of PDM candidate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.

PM Imran had, on Thursday (March 4), said that if he failed to get the vote of confidence from the parliament, he will sit on opposition benches.
