Hajj Policy 2023 approved, Hajj package to be Rs1.175m

Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved the Hajj Policy 2023 and the Hajj Package will be Rs1.165 million and Rs1.175 million for the south and the north respectively. 
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the ECC meeting was chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday.

The committee approved that US$ 90 million will be provided for the pilgrims as this year a total of 179,210 pilgrims will have the blessing of Hajj.

As per the decision of the committee, the government and the private quota have been fixed at 50-fifty.

While 50 per cent of the private Hajj quota will be allocated for the Sponsorship Scheme.

The Hajj Package for northern areas will be 1,175,000 rupees and for southern regions will be 1,165,000 rupees.

In the ECC meeting, Rs12 billion were approved to release for the continuing census in the country while a grant of Rs3.24 billion was also approved for poverty alleviation.

The ECC directed the Industries Ministry to incorporate the recommendations of the Gas Distribution Committee.
