In order to control the spread of the coronavirus, the government of Punjab has decided to keep all tourist resorts in the province, including Murree, shut from May 8 to May 16, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the decision has been taken to protect people from the coronavirus.

He has appealed to the people to remain indoors during the Eid holidays so that they could protect themselves from the pandemic.

“This is my request to the people not to head to Murree and other tourist spots during these holidays,” Chief Minister Buzdar said and added, “Because if you do so, you will find all the roads leading to these places closed. So please show a sense of responsibility and comply with the government instructions.”
