Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani Thursday said that his party had accepted the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan regarding the recounting of the NA 249 by-poll.

But later on, he said when recounting started, ‘the defeated political parties’ started making other demands, reported 24News HD TV channel.

In a video statement which was posted on Ghani’s Twitter account, he said his party had the right to appeal regarding recounting decision of the ECP but they did not avail it because they wanted to finish the issue.

The PML-N blamed that the votes’ bags were not properly sealed, he said and added that this was a baseless accusation. The bags were properly sealed but they (PML-N) just wanted to make it an issue.

He said the PML-N did not lodge any complaint during the election of NA 249 by-polls and even later during the counting process until Miftah Ismael started losing the election.

He said when Miftah started losing from different polling stations, they started complaining. He said Miftah Ismael lodged the first application at 2:30 AM when the result was already declared.

“Even now we are asking them to point out any single polling station where they had found any rigging.”

He said they were trying to make the election disputed where people had rejected them. He challenged the PML-N to show him the Form 45 and Form 46 of all polling stations of Khushab PP84.

He said the political parties should show grace when they lose elections. He said PTI and N-League should think about why their voters had rejected them instead of making the election disputed.
