Former Senate chairman and PPP leader Mian Raza Rabbani said on Friday that the letter written by Punjab Governor Umar Sarfaraz Cheema to Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa for the enforcement of constitution in the province had exposed PTI’s ‘double standards’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“If the state institutions follow the constitution, the PTI resorts to their insult, and if they come to the party’s rescue, they are praised and eulogized,” he said, adding that the Punjab governor by writing to the army chief had violated the court orders.
He accused the PTI of running a vilification campaign against both the Supreme Court and the Lahore High Court when they tried to restrain the party from breaching the constitution.
He called for resolving political issues by remaining within the confines of the constitution of 1973.
