Sharmin Segal says NO to Salman Khan's marriage proposal

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan had proposed to actress Sharmin Segal to marry him, but she declined his proposal.

Salman Khan, despite being in his 50s, is one of the country's most eligible bachelors.

Recently, it came to light that actress Sharmin Segal, who is director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece, had turned down the Sultan actor’s proposal.

In a recent interview, Sharmin recalled that when she was just 2 or 3 years old, she met Salman on the sets of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam who had jokingly asked her, "Will you marry me?" to which she responded with a laugh, "No!"

However, Sharmin did go on to admit that she still fangirls over Salman, especially while watching O O Jane Jana from Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.

She said that at that age, she obviously did not understand the meaning of marriage and said no to everything.

She also spoke about working with her uncle Sanjay Leela Bhansali and said that she realized he was her uncle while watching Devdas when she was 18 years old. Sharmin expressed her admiration for him and also revealed that she assisted him on Bajirao Mastani sets.

The actress stated that her uncle Bhansali is a tireless worker and a mentor who showed her a different side of herself during the shoot of Heeramandi.

Sharmin Segal made her debut with Malaal opposite Meezaan Jafri which brought her a  nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
