Lahore tops list of most-polluted cities of world

Lahore has once again become the most polluted city of the world with its AQ index as high as 547, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the data released by the Air Quality Index, Lahore on Saturday topped the list of the dirtiest cities of the world with concentration of the lung-damaging airborne Particulate Matter (PM) in the atmosphere as high as 547.

The ratio of air quality index recorded in different areas of the city is as follows: DHA  576, Kot Lakhpat  721 and Kahna 586.  

The health experts have advised citizens to take precautionary measures in view of pollution in the air and wear masks.

 After the heavy rainfall and windstorms in most parts of the country, it is likely that there will be rain in Lahore. Rain can play a vital role in bringing pollution down in Lahore.  There is a windstorm in Lahore that also add to the cold in the city on Saturday night.
