Nawabshah’s poorest women tortured at Ehsaas Kafalat Center

A number of women from the lowest strata of society in Nawabshah alleged that policemen deployed at Ehsaas Kafalat Center inflicted worst torture, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The TV channel reported women alleged policemen were taking bribes for allowing women to enter in the center so they could receive their monthly stipend.

A video of police thrashing women at the gate of the Ehsaas Kalafat Programme went viral on social media.

It is pertinent to note that Ehsaas Kafaalat is a programme through which the government provides cash stipends of Rs. 2,000 monthly and bank accounts to the most deserving and poorest women across the country.

For the programme, beneficiaries are identified through a household survey and through Ehsaas NADRA Desk Registration Centres assisted by SMS and Kafalat web-service.
