‘Yoghurt stopover’: Railways minister sacks train driver, assistant

Federal Minister for Railways Mohammad Azam Khan Swati took notice of the ‘train stopped’ video of the driver and its assistant, as he immediately issued orders to suspend train drivers Rana Muhammad Shehzad and Iftikhar Hussain, reported 24NewsHD TV on Tuesday.

Yesterday, Assistant Driver of Engine No. 5217 had stopped the train to buy yoghurt from the market near Kahna Kachha Railway Station in Lahore Division.

Swati said such the incident is intolerable and if any such incident occurred in future, strict action will be taken.

Pakistan Railways is an institution of national trust and we will not allow anybody else to tarnish its repute, uttered Swati.
