Tayyab in 14th CNS Int’l Squash Championship final

Tayyab Aslam outclassed Hong Kong’s Henry Leung in straight games in the semi-final of the 14th CNS International Squash Championship-2020, which was played at Naval Complex, Squash courts in Karachi Friday.

In the second semi-final, top seed Malaysian Ivan Yuen was too much ask for the Egyptian Mazen Gamal. The final between Tayyab and Ivan will be played On Saturday at 2:00pm.

It took Tayyab very little time to register yet another highly convincing victory against a tough opponent. Tayyab took time before coming into his own in the first game as Henry was playing highly fast game and was controlling the ball well.

But after surviving few anxious moments, Tayyab settled down well and came from behind to clinch the first set game 12-10. It was complete domination of Tayyab in the second game as the Pakistan’s top squash player took the game 11-3 and won the third game 11-6 to book place in the final.

In the second semi-final, Ivan Yuen was up against Egyptian Mazen Gamal. The first game started on an electrifying pace and it kept on swinging from one way to another before Ivan took the game 11-7. Same pace was witnessed in the second game as well and once again it was Ivan who clinched the game 11-7 and also went onto win third game 11-8 to register a straight sets victory.
