Fog suspends flight operation at Lahore airport

The flight operation on Monday was suspended at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore as four flights were cancelled and three others diverted to Islamabad due to dense fog engulfing the airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, the airport area was blanketed in thick fog in the morning and the visibility was recorded at just 100 meters owing to which the administration suspended the flight operation at the airport.
The administration cancelled four flights and diverted another three flights to Islamabad. While more than 15 flights were rescheduled.
The flights which were diverted to Islamabad included:
Turkish Airline Flight 714 which was coming from Istanbul; Flight 9501 which was coming from Kuwait; and AirBlue Flight 4733 which was coming from Jeddah.
The flights which were cancelled included:
AirBlue Flight 461 which was coming from Ras Al Khaimah; Flight PK 203 which was coming from Dubai; Flight XY 317 which was coming from Riyadh; and Flight XY 318 which was going to Riyadh.
The ATC authorities did not let the British Airline Flight BA 259 coming from London to land and British Airways Flight 787 was also not allowed to land and the aircraft kept hovering in the air.
