Police claimed to have arrested a gangster involved in heinous crimes like kidnapping and extortion, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.

He kidnapped the salesman of a private cold drink company and demanded ransom.

As soon as the incident was reported, a special team was formed that arrested the accused from Manipur. 

Police recovered Rs10,000 cash, a motorcycle and two mobile phones. 

The case was registered on January 22, 2022.
