Punjab Assembly speaker leads PML-Q team to meeting with PM

Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, PML-Q MNA Moonis Elahi, Federal Housing Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema had a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Wednesday.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood and Federal Planning and Development Minister Asad Umer were also present.
They reviewed the provincial government's measures to make Punjab a prosperous province. During the meeting, matters of administrative affairs, recently-passed Punjab budget and new Assembly building came under discussion.
The coalition parties expressed resolve to continue efforts to ensure a better public service delivery. The PML-Q is a key partner the PTI coalition government and have a voice in decision-making for pro-people polities.
Last month, the Punjab Assembly passed annual provincial budget and the session held in the new building as promised by the speaker.
He greeted the CM on the achievement. The foundation stone of the new building of the Punjab Assembly was laid on June 27, 2006 by Parvez Elahi when he was chief minister.
In his address at the assembly, the speaker listed the feats of last parliamentary years, saying 40 committees were empowered to bring in betterment.
The assembly performed outstandingly while dealing with the difficulties during coronavirus outbreak, he said and mentioned making by-laws for Assembly Secretariat Employees.
