A court in Islamabad on Thursday granted bails to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mehmood Khan in two cases of causing damage to public property during the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) long march on May 25, 2022 in lieu of surety bonds of Rs5, 000 each, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

District and Sessions Judge Kamran Basharat Mufti approved bail applications of the CM in cases registered at Kohsar and Tarnol police stations of the federal capital.

Speaking on the occasion, counsel for CM Mehmood said it was for the first time that a chief executive of a province had been booked in a ‘treason’ case. “But the truth of the matter is that my client has always shown respect towards the state institutions,” he asserted.
