The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Thursday imposed a hefty fine of Rs40.23 million on internationally acclaimed singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan after the tax regulator managed to trace his secret bank account, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

As per sources, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan only shared the details of the HBL and Alfalfah Bank accounts in his wealth statement.

FBR Intelligence and Inland Wing kept on looking for the hidden bank account and found the secret account of Rahat Fateh Ali in Al Baraka Bank in which the singer deposited Rs50.55 million.

The tax was imposed in the fiscal year 2016.
