One dead as six-storey building collapses in Karachi

At least one person died while 10 others were injured when a six-storey building collapsed in Lyari area of Karachi on Sunday night.

The residents of the building started evacuation as they witnessed that building was slightly leaning. During the evacuation, the building caved in, burying several family members alive under the debris.

The locals rushed to rescue the families after the incident and succeeded in pulling out 10 people alive while one woman died. The injured persons were admitted to Civil Hospital.

Rescue teams, Rangers, police and other departments reached the site and started the rescue operation. The Karachi police chief asked the officers to supervise the rescue operation. He said the injured should be shifted to the hospital at the earliest.
