Skipper Babar Azam Tuesday said he is super excited as the international series is going to be held in Multan after 14 years, adding that the team is waiting for the fans to arrive in the stadium as they were waiting to see the stars playing in front of the home crowd for quite a while.

Addressing a press conference in Multan, Babar said the team will give its 100 per cent to perform well against the West Indies.

Babar said: “As a team we have to come up with good performance”, adding that excellence in all the departments of the game will matter.

He added the quality display in the field’s department also really matters, adding the more the team save runs, the more pressure it puts on the opposition.

Babar said: “With the last series we bagged confidence”, adding that the opposition could not be underestimated as they have both the combination of young and seasoned cricketers.

Babar said despite Multan is witnessing scorching weather, the wind will cool the situation, adding that the heat will not impact the game.

Babar said the wicket will not be slow, as there is some grass on the wicket, adding that after reviewing the wicket tomorrow it will be decided whether to opt for bowling or batting.

Babar went on to say that the team is trying different combinations in the middle order, adding that with the return of Nawaz and Shadab, the middle order will get strong.

Babar said: “We are trying to give 100 per cent in every match, adding that the result of the match is not in our hands, but efforts are”, adding but the aim of the team is to bag victory every time with great display.

Babar went on to say that boys are confident, adding that on the day West Indies could prove dangerous for the opposition.

Babar said with the addition of Khushdil Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed, the team combination gets strong, adding that his (Babar) own focus remains to lead the team from the front and then after that he focuses on his individual performance.

Babar said: “When I played PSL matches in Multan, people backed them with great zeal.”

Babar said he would like to ask the spectators to make their way to the stadium to support both the teams.

Talking about Hasan Ali, Babar said: “As a senior bowler, you have to step up”, adding that the ups and downs are part of the game, adding that how to come out of the pressure situation is up to the individual.

Babar further said the way Hasan Ali performed in county cricket gave him confidence, adding in the nets also he bowled well and he will definitely provide the team with great support.

Babar said on his Nicholas Pooran could be dangerous, adding the more the team will stick to the plan, there are more chances to get results in the team’s favour.
