Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has clarified that there is no increase in the prices of petroleum products today.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, he said he said nothing about raising the prices of petroleum products in the Pre-Budget Seminar.
The finance minister said that there was no service to the people of Pakistan in spreading such news on social media.
Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb has also confirmed that speculations of an increase in prices of petroleum products are absolutely false.
She said that the government has not taken any decision to increase the prices of petrol and diesel further.
Pertinent to mention here that soon after Miftah’s hint of increasing prices of petroleum products at the Business Conference in Islamabad, many filling stations were closed in the twin cities and Lahore.
And, long lines of vehicles and motorbikes were observed at the petrol pumps.
