PSL 2020: Rain rescues struggling Sultans

Multan Sultans were saved by the rain on Friday night as persistent showers halted their PSL encounter with Karachi Kings at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Match was abandoned and both teams were given one point each.
Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim won the toss and elected to field first which proved the right decision in the end as Multan Sultans were struggling at 102/6 after 16.5 overs when the rain came and stopped the play.
It was Muhammad Amir who got the early breakthrough in the third over of the match by removing Zeeshan Ashraf for 2 runs. Fast bowler Aamer Yamin took two wickets on two balls during the sixth over. He removed set batsman Moeen Ali (29) and RR Rossouw for zero. Multan Sultans managed to score 41/3 in the power play.
Kings captain Imad Wasim got rid of Ravi Bopara who scored only four runs. Sultans made 53/4 after 10 overs.
Later, Sultans captain Shan Masood was clean bowled by opponent captain Imad Wasim. Masood scored only 9 runs. Khushdil Shah was the last man who got out for 8 runs in the 12th over.
Shahid Afridi arrived at the crease when the Sultans were struggling at 53/5. Boom Boom Afridi smashed three sixes and one four in his unbeaten innings of 35 runs off 17 balls. The former Pakistan captain brought some respectability to the total. Sultans were 102/6 after 16.5 overs when the rain came and stopped the play.
Kings captain Imad Wasim and Aamer Yamin bagged two wickets each.
Later, the match officials abandoned the match and gave one point each to the both sides.
