The Election Commission of Pakistan said that there were 29,338 contenders in the run for the Phase-II of local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Out of the total number of the seats, 651 candidates for the slot of Tehsil Mayor and Chairman, while 13,331 contenders are in run for the slot in villages and neighborhoods.

3201 candidates have filed papers for the seats for women councilors, 6602 for peasants, 5446 for youth councilors and 107 for minorities.
