PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday notified former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as the party's Central President, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

On the special instructions of the PTI chairman, Fawad Chaudhry met with Elahi at his residence and handed him a copy of the notification.

Expressing his gratitude to Imran, Elahi, on the occasion, vowed to fight alongside the PTI chief for the supremacy of the constitution. “Imran is struggling for the rights of the common man and for the supremacy of the constitution,” the ex-chief minister said, adding, “And in this struggle, we are with him.”

Elahi further said it was impossible for the government to block Imran’s ascent to power since he lived in people’s hearts. “And every survey held in the country as well as the by-elections held since the ouster of the PTI government are the proof of PTI chief’s popularity,” he concluded.
