An Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore Tuesday sentenced the three accused involved in the case of a bomb blast near the residence of Jamatud Dawa’s chief Hafiz Saeed in Johar Town in 2021 to death.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the court declared mastermind Samiul Haq and his two facilitators, Aziz Akbar alias Uzair Akbar, and Naveed Akhtar guilty and ordered to confiscate their properties as well.

The accused were accomplices of blast key mastermind Peter Paul.

Anti-Terrorism Court Admin Judge Abhar Gul Khan delivered the verdict.

The suspects were not produced before the court owing to security reasons and the hearing was also conducted through a video link.

Deputy prosecutors Amjad Javed and Shahid Sipra submitted witnesses against the three accused

More than 60 prosecution witnesses recorded their testimony against the accused.

Advocates Farhad Ali Shah and Adil Chatta argued on behalf of the accused.

CTD Inspector Khalid Akbar had submitted a challan against the accused.

In this case, four accused including Peter Paul, Eid Gul and Sajjad have already been sentenced to death nine times.

It is pertinent to note, the blast occurred on June 23rd 2021 in Johar Town Lahore, where a car bomb was detonated, killing 3 people and injuring 21 others.

The blast itself occurred near the residence of Hafiz Saeed, the leader of the banned organisation, Jamaat-ud-Dawwa. Four suspects, identified as Peter Paul David, Eid Gul Khan, Ziaullah and Sajjad Hussain, were sentenced to death on January 12 for carrying out the attack, while Eid Gul’s wife, Ayesha, was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for her role.

In this regard, the federal government has prepared a dossier to expose India’s involvement in terror activities in Pakistan after the collection of evidence in the 2021 Johar Town blast.

The government prepared a dossier in light of evidence collected during the probe into the Johar Town blast.
