Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said on Thursday that a meeting of the steering committee of the Sindh Education Department would decide the schedule for the matric exams in the province in the next few days.

He said the decision on ninth and 10th exams would be taken after consultations at the meeting of the education steering committee.

“All stakeholders are members of the body,” Saeed Ghani said, announcing the committee would also decide on the academic year. He said the National Coordination Committee (NCC) at a recent meeting empowered the provinces to take such decisions on their own.

It is pertinent to mention here that Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood on Thursday announced cancellation of all board exams across the country as part of measures to contain the spread of the COVID-I9 pandemic.
