COAS assures Saudi Arabia of Pakistan’s commitment to defend Two Holy Mosques

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman in which they discussed the regional situation and deliberated on other challenges, reported 24 News HD TV Channel on Friday.

The ISPR in its Tweet said that the Army Chief called on His Royal Highness Mohammad bin Salman, Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Deputy Defence Minister at Jeddah on Friday.

According to the ISPR, during these meetings, the COAS discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security situation including recent developments in the Afghan peace process, bilateral defence, security, collaboration for regional peace and connectivity.

Army Chief said that Pakistan is resolute in its commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of KSA and defence of the Two Holy Mosques. The Crown Prince acknowledged Pakistan's role towards regional peace and stability.

The Crown Prince also said that the relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are based on bonds of brotherhood and mutual trust and both nations will continue to play their part for peace, stability and betterment of Muslim Ummah.

The COAS on Wednesday called on His Excellency General Fayiadh Bin Hamed Al Rowaily, Chief of General Staff (CGS), Saudi Armed Forces at Riyadh.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation including the Afghan peace process, defence and security and military to military cooperation were discussed. The COAS emphasized the need to further enhance military to military cooperation between the two Armed Forces and said that Pakistan-KSA cooperation will have a positive impact on peace and security in the region.

CGS KSA thanked the COAS for his sentiments and assured of full cooperation and support from KSA in all initiatives aimed at improving regional cooperation, peace and stability.
