Sugar disappears from market, utility stores, prices reach at Rs160 per kilo

Prime Minister Imran Khan-led government had failed to solve the sugar crisis as on Sunday, the commodity has been disappeared from the open market and the utility stores too.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, citizens had become worried over the issue of shortage of sugar in the utility stores as well as the sale of it at expensive rates of Rs160 per kilo in the open market.

As per the report, sugar was being sold at Rs160 in Bahawalpur, Rs150 in Hyderabad and Rs155 per kg in Gujranwala. Sugar was also disappeared from Karachi and Bahawalpur markets.

The sources said that due to the negligence of the administration, there was a severe shortage of flour and sugar in utility stores.
