One death, 104 dengue cases reported in Islamabad

There seems to be no respite for people from dengue in near future as hundreds of cases of the virus were reported from different parts of the country during the last 24 hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

According to the district health officer (DHO), 104 people were diagnosed with the virus in Islamabad and its outskirts during the last 24 hours while one death was also reported.  

“So far seven people have died from the disease in the federal capital this season while the virus has been detected in 2,863 people,” he informed. 

“Out of these 2,863 patients, 1,178 were reported from the city while 1,658 from the surrounding villages,” the DHO elaborated. 

He went on to say that presently 478 patients are admitted at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), 111 at Poly Clinic while 57 patients were admitted at the CDA Hospital.  

39 land at Peshawar hospitals

The situation is not better in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) either as 39 people were admitted to provincial capital Peshawar’s hospitals during the last 24 hours. 

So far 4,127 people have contracted the virus in the provincial capital while as far as the province is concerned, the number stands at 10,743. 

Similarly, the virus has been detected in 2,608 people in Mardan, in 860 people in district Khyber since the beginning of this season. 

Peshawar, Mardan and Khyber have emerged as the most affected districts of KP.
