Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to resume its flight operations to Turkey on November 14, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Federal Minister for Railway and Aviation Khawaja Saad Rafiq Friday announced the PIA’s six weekly flights for Turkey to the mark 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Turkey.

Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that passengers from Pakistan to Europe, the UK, and the USA will be able to fly from Istanbul under the PIA Turkish Airlines agreement.  They will be able to access 28 cities from Istanbul due to the codeshare agreement, he added. Initially, 4 flights from Islamabad, while 2 flights from Lahore will be operated by Boeing 777, he hinted. In the second phase, flights from Karachi to Istanbul will also be started, Khawaja Saad Rafiq told.

The decision is expected to bring in significant revenue for the national flag carrier that has been trying to cut down on operational costs.
