Head coach and Chief Selector of the national cricket team Misbah-ul-Haq Monday said that inexperienced young pacers have to be given some time and as a coach he also has to be patient.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Misbah asked his critics not to be so harsh against the young pacers as they need time to learn and there is always room for learning.

Commenting on skipper Babar Azam, Misbah said he has always tried to give powers to the Babar Azam and the captain will not be able to learn anything until he makes his own decisions.

Misbah reviewed the cricket team’s recent tour of England and said senior players can play until the next T20 World Cup as Muhammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik are playing good cricket.

Misbah said, “We are bringing some changes in the cricket team as per the requirements.”

He said there is always room for improvement and yes the current results may not be what’s desired but it was up to my satisfaction overall.

Misbah acknowledged that he wasn’t kept in the loop but wanted to discuss the domestic cricket business with National High Performance Centre Director Nadeem Khan.

He defended Pakistan cricket team’s performance under him and the team may have slipped from No 1 to four in T20 ranking but the slide had begun long before he took the seat.

Misbah said, “There is no problem with new coaches and we have to adjust with everyone. We believe we are going in the right direction and will try to do better.”

He said if you keep the past in the mind then you wouldn’t be able to work.
