Farewell ceremony held for outgoing Punjab IGP Inam Ghani

Former Inspector General of Punjab Police Inam Ghani has said that as the Chief of Punjab Police, eradication of crime from the society, further improvement of public service delivery, better welfare of the subordinate force and effective use of information technology in policing have been my top priorities.

He thanked the subordinates for their excellent teamwork and support and said that with the joint efforts and professionalism of all the officers and branches Punjab Police has not only successfully completed several projects but also solved the problems of the people through smart and community policing.

He said that it has always been my endeavour to ensure that no one's heart is hurt or harmed by my authority and behavior and I am happy that the new Chief of Punjab Police Sardar Ali Khan is also a very professional, capable and hardworking officer under his leadership, the process of crime eradication and public service delivery will be improved further.

He said that he hoped that Sardar Ali Khan would continue the projects of modern policing so that Punjab Police as an institution would be further strengthened and the process of public service delivery would be further improved.  He expressed these views while talking to his subordinates at his farewell function held at the Central Police Office here today.

The officers present on the occasion paid homage to the services of Inam Ghani as IG Punjab and said that Inam Ghani faced every challenge with determination due to his excellent leadership qualities and effective use of information technology instead of traditional policing ensuring timely action under the principle of smart and community policing.

He said that whenever a project was put before Inam Ghani for the betterment of the department, he encouraged it by allowing it wholeheartedly and that is why we did our best to perform our duties in a calm environment. The officers also expressed best wishes for the future of Inam Ghani.

Thanking the subordinates, Inam Ghani said, "I am proud to have the best colleagues and subordinates and leading them I continued my professional journey and I hope you all will work hard to fulfill your duties." so that you may also continue with good intentions, passion and dedication to reach new heights of success in your professional careers. He further said that departmental promotions and transfers are part of our career and as civil servants we should always be ready for it.

At the end, Additional IG South Punjab Captain (Retd) Zafar Iqbal presented a flower bouquet to Inam Ghani.
