Police arrested a man in Sanghar after he raped a seven-year-old girl as the country grapples with the ever-increasing incidents of sexual assault against children, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The horrific incident again proved a fact which is not discussed and highlighted in our society: in most of the child abuse cases, it is the family members or acquaintances who commit these horrendous crimes. And the accused – Abdul Karim Khaskheli – in this case was also a neighbour.

According to details, the girl was raped at Jamrao – a village located near Preetumabad within the precincts of Khadro Police Station.

It is reported that Khaskheli took the victim to a jungle near the populated area where he raped her. He fled the scene after raping and leaving her unconscious.

Later, the family members rushed her to the THQ Hospital at Sinjhoro, the nearest health facility, where doctors confirmed the rape.

Meanwhile, the police took timely action and captured Khaskheli in a raid after he went into hiding.
