The PML-N leaders on Tuesday vowed to fight for assuring respect for the vote and said the issue would be settled with the supremacy of law and Constitution, as the ouster of Prime Minister Imran Khan wasn’t enough, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“I swear we will not allow the government to function,” Khawaja Asif and noted that they would not hesitate resigning from the assemblies which wasn’t a big price for achieving the ultimate objective.

“Vote will now has to be respected in the country,” said the seasoned politician in his address to the party workers and supporters at Bhatta Chowk in Lahore.

He said the ground around Minar-e-Pakistan was being watered to sabotage the December 13 rally which would be a test of the people of Lahore.

“Nawaz Sharif doesn’t want the government as he is fighting a battle for the people’s rights,” said Khawaja Asif who noted that sitting in the current assemblies was of no use.

Khawaja Saad Rafique was also among those speaking on the occasion. He said, “The issue won’t settle with the removal Imran Khan, [it] would be settled at the Constitution and law.”

He maintained that the PTI came into power through vote theft and the only thing Imran had done was sending his rivals to prison. “Sitting in these assemblies is wastage of time,” said Saad who added that they wanted the old Pakistan.

Asking the people to play their role to get rid of the incumbent government, the PML-N leader stressed that the Punjabis would have to stand up and remove the stain from their honour.

Similarly, former National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq said December 13 would be the decision-making day as Nawaz Sharif had decided that the practice of imposing rulers forcibly wasn’t acceptable.

He again admitted that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-u-Rehman was right in suggesting after the 2018 elections that the opposition should not take oath in the assemblies.

This workers’ convention was part of the rallies and gathering organised by the PML-N in the city to mobilise the people for the PDM rally at Minar-e-Pakistan. Similar events have been organised during the past few days where the central party leaders addressed the crowds.

Maryam Nawaz – the PML-N vice-president – earlier on Monday had a rally which started with addressing a gathering at Daroghawala and ended at Shahdara.

During the process, her rally criss-crossed various parts of city including Shalimar Chowk, Garhi Shahu, Tajpura, Wasanpura and Badami Bagh as she addressed the supporters at different points.

She received a tremendous response as thousands of people lined up along the route, chanting slogans and showering rose petals on her vehicle.

Meanwhile, Maryam will lead another rally and address more gatherings in the coming days before Sunday’s showdown.
