Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, husband of party Vice President Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif Captain (r) Safdar said on Wednesday that he did not deem it fit to reply to Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry’s ‘loose talk’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media outside the Supreme Court (SC) after attending the hearing of the case of a property dispute, involving his brother, he said that Fawad had no value.

He further said that the marriage ceremony of his son Junaid Safdar would be a simple affair. “The song titled, ‘Vote ko Izzat Dau’ would also be played at the function,” he said, and added he would himself sing a song at the event.

Safdar said that he had great respect for Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari. “He lives in my heart,” he said, and added whether PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto attended his son’s wedding function or not, he would not reciprocate his gesture. “I will definitely attend his wedding ceremony,” he said, adding this was because Sindh Police would not arrest him in Karachi.

He claimed that Maryam Nawaz, his wife, was a great leader.

Regarding reporter’s question about his plans for the second marriage, Safdar replied only that man married for the second time who had a tense marital life. “Alhamdu lillah, there is peace in our home,” he remarked.

Safdar said his brother had a property dispute with a cruel man named Ijaz Afzal. “He remained Supreme Court judge. But after retirement, he started grabbing people’s lands. A man named Makhan Shah was murdered in his home. Even drugs were recovered from his home once. He was shown copies of the FIRs registered against him in order to make him write down the verdict against my father-in-law Nawaz Sharif in Panama Leaks case,” he alleged.

But sadly, he went on to add, there was nobody to question him.

He also accused him of taking up the cases of ‘Ahmedis’ when he was a lawyer. “My slogan is, ‘Long Live Mumtaz Qadri’,” Safdar said.

Earlier, the Supreme Court referred the case of Captain (r) Safdar’s brother’s property dispute to a session court in Abbottabad.
