Saudi Arabia will lift travel ban from March 31 the Kingdom has imposed as part of steps to stem the spread of coronavirus, the state-run Saudi Press Agency said on Friday.

The permission is conditioned with the enforcement of SOPs, the agency said, adding that the Kingdom will allow its citizens to travel abroad and then return from March 31, and will open all air, land and seaports from the same date.

Saudi Arabia shut its borders and suspended international commercial flights after the coronavirus crisis deepened across the globe.

However, the measures do not affect goods’ movement and it allowed non-citizens to leave the kingdom and allowing entry for exceptional cases.

Following the Saudi ban, the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) halted all its flights to Saudi Arabia and a spokesman for the national flag carrier said the affected passengers would be accommodated at the earliest after the Saudi authorities restore flight operations.
