The Punjab government has appointed a junior officer as the higher education secretary, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

It is learnt that Najaf Iqbal, who has been appointed as the higher education secretary, is a grade 19 officer, whereas, Special Secretary Naeem Ghous is a grade 20 officer.

It also merits a mention here that it has only been a year since Najaf Iqbal was promoted to grade 19.

The additional secretary High Education Department is also senior to Najaf Iqbal.
